Yoga and Yoga Therapy

My Approach to Hatha Yoga

Yoga is far more than just a physical practice of Asanas and breathing techniques; it is a way of life.  Yoga invites us to live in such a way that we are existing in harmony with ourselves, with others and with nature.  It addresses the purification of our entire being, from the body, to mind, to our behaviors and actions to live a life of balance, truth and love. 


My Hatha Yoga sessions are a combination of dynamic practice to strengthen, tone and energize the body while also holding postures for longer periods of time to deepen in meditation, go beyond the mind and enter the space of the pure heart.

My practice is very much rooted in the traditional teachings of Hatha Yoga, where asanas are meant to be steady and comfortable with awareness of the activated energy centers in the body and meditating while in the posture. Through being aware of the chakras (psychic energy centers in the body) and their qualities we learn from the asana practice how to integrate loving kindness, trust, determination, confidence, fluidity, compassion, joy and more divine qualities into our daily life.  How we are centered and loving in both body and mind on the mat starts to echo beyond our formal practice into a life of freedom and balance.

Yoga has been scientifically proven to be able to heal or drastically improve most chronic, non-infectious diseases without any external medicine. It has been proven effective to treat depression, anxiety, high or low blood pressure, hypertension, diabetes, spondylitis, infertility, sciatica, obesity and much more.
